The Idea Of #TravelTomorrow

Travel Tomorrow is a campaign for solidarity from UNWTO. Travelers from all over the world are coming together for this idea. Social media, especially Twitter and Instagram are flooding with posts on it.

Impact On Tourism

Organizations want to learn from the mistakes of the current COVID-19 crisis and make travel safer in the future. The recovery from this crisis needs to be financially and politically viable.

COVID-19 threatens a lot of jobs across the world. As Tourism stands as a highly impacted sector due to COVID-19, the UNWTO is working towards a healthier recovery that ensures:

  1. Job protection
  2. Inclusion
  3. Sustainability
  4. Equality

What Twitter Says

This one twitter user started with an interesting question about the possible destinations on your list when the world is free. I had the goal of visiting all the states in India in the coming years. And to visit at least one foreign country each year. But now, with the current global crisis, the only next destination on my mind is to go home. To go visit my parents in Chennai, India. Living in Bangalore and working from home has been challenging with the national lockdown in effect.

Twitter handles that are related to city promotions are now conducting contests to engage their followers. Like this fun contest where you need to name the animal in the image. I don’t know which animal this is but at least it makes me want to travel again. The fact that this pandemic was aggravated by traveling, should not stop us from traveling in the future. Times will change. And with the Governments taking action for our safety, we have to wish for good times ahead.

What Instagram Says

Zimbabwe has been promoting its natural scenery with such breathtaking pictures as these. Travel addicts are increasingly using street view in Google maps to visit their favorite places. But there are some places and views that are beyond Google maps. This is one such angle that will relax you as soon as you imagine it!

Kenya is another country that decided to join the Travel tomorrow campaign with such promotional images as these. They joined the rest of the world in putting people first and taking all precautions to flatten the COVID-19 curve.
